Lollypop Farm
Hudson the Handsome came to us from another shelter, so we don't know much about him except all the good things we've seen here at Lollypop Farm. He's a pretty big boy, weighing in at just under 70 lbs. We put his age at 3 years old, old enough to have outgrown the craziness of puppyhood and to have settled down to being a very good boy.
We put Hudson's energy level in the perfect sweet spot, right in the middle between Nap Champ and Track Star. He enjoys walks - he's good on a leash - and playtime, but he also likes his relaxation time. If that relaxation time includes cuddles, so much the better, because Hudson loves people.
We think Hudson could do well with children and other dogs, so we'd like him to meet the whole family before going home. Ditto any dogs who already live in your home, because we want to start everyone off on the right paw. If you have a cat (or a few) at home, our counselors have lots of tips for handling inter-species introductions.
One last thing: Hudson tested positive for heartworm, so while our vets finish treating him, we'll send him home on an extended sleepover. Once he's officially heartworm-free we'll finalize the adoption - which will be free, thanks to the Heart-to-Heart program - and you'll be ready for life together.
Are you thinking Hudson could be the new dog you've been looking for? We - along with Hudson and all our available dogs - would love to see you here. Love could be just a car ride away.
This pet is part of the Lollypop Farm Heart-to-Heart program in partnership with Boehringer Ingelheim, makers of HEARTGARD® Plus (ivermectin/pyrantel). This means that this dog was diagnosed with heartworm while at Lollypop Farm. The cost of treatment for this pet, and others like them, has been paid for thanks to the generosity of Boehringer Ingelheim. Their adoption fee has also been waived and they will be going home with a year's supply of HEARTGARD® Plus (ivermectin/pyrantel), a heartworm preventative, to keep them protected in their new home. Learn more about the Heart-to-Heart program.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: HEARTGARD® Plus (ivermectin/pyrantel) is well tolerated. All dogs should be tested for heartworminfection before starting a preventive program. Following the use of HEARTGARD Plus, digestive and neurological side effects have been reported. For more information, click here for full prescribing information.
