Jake's story should tug on your heart strings! He lost his home when he, and another dog in the household, did not get along. Jake is a sweet 11 year old mixed breed who tips the scales at 67 pounds. He is good on a leash, politely takes a treat but does not beg for them. Jake just wants to be loved. He was perfectly content to sit beside anyone as long as they scratched his ears and upper back , or were petting him. He does try to become a lap dog given the chance. and he likes to nuzzle. He is a wonderful find in the Seniors-for-Seniors program. Just look into those sad eyes that say "please, all I want is a safe, quiet. loving home."

Jake had fun on his most recent Doggy Day Out! Here is what the person who took him out had to say: "He's so gentle and relaxed. He's very good on a leash. He's a bit slow but that might be from his wounds. We were sitting on a bench in the courtyard and he jumped right up next to my husband and lounged on him like they were old buds. He smothered my kids with kisses. When we walked to the playground, he wanted to go with the kids instead of hang out with me and my husband, but when my husband laid on the grass, Jake laid right on top of him! He'd be so good for someone who works from home, or for an older couple who wants a really low-key dog to cuddle on the couch and give all the unconditional love."
